Lyrics

Life’s just a song from beginning to end
No one knows where the melody starts
But ’tis played on the chords of our hearts
Young and old, as they hasten along
All hark to the music of that tuneful song
Sometimes it will bring you
Idle fancies of romances
Tho’ the words are few
Lovers will eagerly treasure the harmony
Or else quickly changing
With the fashion of your passion
It may sound for you
The keynote of laughter and pleasure
Today ’twill echo gladly
Tomorrow murmur sadly
But all in turn the melody must learn Ah!
Life’s just a song from beginning to end
There are times when the rhythm in slow
And the tears at it’s bidding will flow
Come what may, you and I, all life long
Must hark to the music of that tuneful song
O, life’s a song of laughter, tears
Of hopes and fears throughout the years
And though clever, our endeavour
None can ever, ever escape
From the wonderful sound of that song
