Lyrics

(Spring:)
The Spring was here, the skies were blue
The birds seemed glad to sing
The very sweetest song they knew
Every happiness to bring
Sweet nature dressed in colors bright
The flowers brought good cheer
The Spring was here, the world was right
And I knew that you were near

(Fall:)
The Fall was here, alas! I found
That the birds had flown away
The skies were dark for miles around
And the whole world seemed to pray, darling
The sun had gone, the flowers died
And all nature looked forlorn
It seemed to me the angels cried
And I knew that you had gone
